F5 vLAB Setp not getting connect

Hi,

I have completed my vLab setup according to provided vLab guide.

F5 Virtual Version :- BIGIP-14.1.0-0.0.116.ALL-scsi

VMware Product:- VMware® Workstation 15 Pro

VMware Version:- 15.5.0 build-14665864

Configuration below.

Interfaces and IPs

VMnet0 192.168.14.38

VMnet1 10.1.1.0

VMnet2 10.1.10.0

VMnet3 10.1.20.0

Still I am unable to connect F5 VE to Host VE through management IP 10.1.1.245.

Your quick help is appreciated.

  • Hi, Happy new Year.

Remove Vmnet 0 from the First network adapter.

    Arrange it like this:

    Network Adapter: vnmet1 (host only)

    Network Adapter2: bridged

    Network Adapter3 vmnet2 (host only)

    Network Adapter4: Vmnet3 (host only).

This arrangement matters, because as configured on the VE, the first network adapter is the management network. That is how you access the F5 user interface. So you go to https://10.1.1.245 on your URL with this setup in place.

Network Adapter2, gives you internet access when you bridge that network adapter to your host adapter. Except you want to create another virtual network such that you can create another VM which will server as the external User trying to access the resources behind the F5

  • Done it and I am able to connect with mgmt port and setup F5 VM now I am unable to PING external Interface 1.1 IP 10.1.10.240 while the gateway of this IP(10.1.10.2) is getting connect. In CLI i have not seen route details which i have configured for interface 1.1 .

I hope you configured the Network adapter2 as the external interface by bridging it to your host adapter. Because Network adapter 2 is where the interface 1.1 is connected to.

  • Thanks for you comments I have done VMnet2 external interface but result is same. For your information it's virtual environment.
