DNS Views on GTM (BIGIP DNS)

Has anybody implemented DNS Views on the GTM? Were there any issues with using DNS Views on the GTM? Our GTMs are authoritative for a sub zone delegated to the GTM. We have a GTM in a remote data center that has a private listener address. In order to ensure that NS record queries return the correct NS records we have attempted to implement an “Internal” view with an ACL that specifies our Internal address space. Everything works fine for a couple of hours. Then for an unknown reason we start getting NXDOMAIN as a response to GTM queries while the “Internal” view is first in the order. My understanding is that the GTM does not use BIND unless the WideIP is down AND the load balancing method is set to "Return to DNS". Are there any other circumstances when BIND would come into play? When we put the default external view first in the order again; the issues stop. Has anyone else seen similar behavior? One theory we had was AAAA lookups were generating the NXDOMAIN. We enabled IPv6NoErrorResponse on all of the WideIPs. This did not resolve the issue.
