APM Space...

Receiveing messages that we are running out of space on the APM - found several of these folders in directory /shared/tmp/tmsh

Not overly experienced with the structure of the APM itself - from anyone's experience are these files/folders needed. With them being in a temp folder - I am assuming that they are not needed, but would just appreciate some verification as to their need.

Images below are of the directory itself and another showing the contents. Range of size is 140k to 230k.

Thanks in advance!

  • Thanks - I found that article - it's how I came across the folder I show above. I have reason to believe it may be our backup process.

We take the backup and have a script running to move it to our backup server.

I just have no way of knowing the importance of the files if I were to remove them - they go back a year.

  • How do you perform the backup? Via tmsh and backend management script? Do the files in these directories closely match the size of your backup files?

  • Yes - Backup is run and then a script is used to move it to a backup server. They are quite close in size. On the APM file size would read 230K - and on the backup server it reads as 237K - the time stamp however, are about 12 hours off, but not sure what the timezone settings are on the 2 boxes.
