Hi. If you don't have HTTPS on your web servers, but want an HTTPS service on your LTM you will need to create an HTTP pool and use an HTTPS VIP with a client SSL profile (SSL certificate) This is known as SSL offloading - where F5 manages the encryption.
You can also have end to end encryption, using a client SSL certificate and a server side certificate. For this you will need to enable HTTPS on your webservers.
Please see the LTM Operations Guide for more information of common deplyments https://support.f5.com/content/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/f5-ltm-gtm-operations-guide-1-0/_jcr_content/pdfAttach/download_0/file.res/f5-ltm-gtm-operations-guide-1-0.pdf
