Unusual health monitor.

Hello,

 

Is it possible to monitor a node which is not part of a pool, and mark the pool down when the monitor fails? I've managed to create health monitor with custom POST query which works fine, but the requirement is to NOT send any production traffic to the destination node. It's for monitoring purpose only.

 

Anyone come across a similar scenario?

    Hi, yes it's possible.

    You can create custom monitor, in sections 

    Alias Address
    define ip address of the node you need and in 
    Alias Service Port
    custom port. Set monitor to the pool, set 
    Availability Requirement
    to All. In case if this monitor fails pool will be mark down.

    Hi Vitaliy,

     

    I've seen this option, but wasn't sure if it's the right one and why I can't change it. Looks like is possible to change it only on creation.
