F5 LTM – Marking a VS down when less than X pool members are available

Question

Hi all, &nbsp;
I would like to configure an Irule for disable the VIP if the number of active members in the pool is less than x amount.  I am using 11.5.3.&nbsp;
Since i am not a Irule specialist, bit struck situation here. Could you good people give me a nudge in the right direction? &nbsp;

I have used below irule but it doesnt work.
when HTTP_REQUEST { if { [ active_members [ LB::server pool ] ] &lt;=2 } { pool testpool-dc1 } else { [ LB::server ] [ LB::down ] }

}

Also i dont want use external monitors. 😞
